Feywild

The Feywild is a primal realm of untamed wilds. Its dominant civilization, if it can be called such, consists the eladrin who live in unearthly harmony with the Feywild, erecting alabaster city-spires of pure magic which fade into and out of the Material Plane with the seasons.

The Feywild is a reflection of the world as it was before farms and roads and the taming of the beast of burden. It is wild and unpredictable- sometimes, time passes more quickly within the Feywild and sometimes hardly at all. Travel between wilderness areas often takes far less time than usual, compressing weeks-long travel into hours… provided you’re not picky about exactly where you end up. You can be assured of getting out in the right environment, but not so much the right city. Travel into the ‘civilized’ analogs of Feywild terrain is difficult and at times impossible; thorns and weeds often grow in the Feywild where the touch of mortals bends the land to their will.

As far as sentience goes in the Feywild, the general rule seems to be that everything can talk, from gnomes and eladrin to trees and rocks. This does not mean that everything is reasonable, or even non-hostile. Travel with caution.
